The San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation presents the Dave Becker Sextet, featuring acclaimed LA trombonist Kevin Hicks, on Saturday night, July 8th, at the Unity Concert Hall (1130 Orcutt Rd./SLO).
The Sextet, with the three-man front line (Becker, saxes, Bob Bennett, trumpet and Hicks on trombone), will play straight-ahead jazz reminiscent of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers. The stellar rhythm section of Marshall Otwell, piano, Darrell Voss, drums, and Dylan Johnson, bass, round out the group.
