The SLO County Jazz Federation is excited to feature the internationally acclaimed guitarist Anthony Wilson and his trio at the Unity Concert Hall on Saturday October 19 at 7:30 p.m. (Southwood at Johnson in SLO). The concert is a continuation of the Marilyn Greenberg Memorial Series. Marilyn was a founding member of the Jazz Fed who passed away in 2009.
Anthony is truly one of the giants of the contemporary jazz scene. His skillful and inspired work as a guitarist, composer and arranger is based both on his abiding connection to the jazz tradition and his willingness to take risks. Anthony has performed and recorded with many of the greats of our time including Diana Krall (he’s been her guitarist and musical director since 2001), Bobby Hutcherson, Mose Allison, Larry Goldings, Paul McCartney, Willie Nelson and (of course) his father, the legendary Gerald Wilson.
Admission: $ 20 General; $15 Jazz Fed Members; $10 Students.
