Hailing from San Francisco, Keith is an exceptional interpreter of the “hard bop” jazz tradition. A former student of Jazz Legend Horace Silver, Saunders extensive career includes stints with Richie Cole, Frank Wess, Joe Lovano and Hank Crawford. During his tenure in New York City, he founded the New York Hard Bop Quintet. His trio will feature Robb Fisher on bass and Ron Marabuto on drums. Fisher has accompanied the likes of Cal Tjader, Art Pepper, Carmen McCrae, Anita O’Day, and Claire Fisher. Marabuto has performed with many jazz luminaries including Roland Hanna, Tommy Flanagan, Bruce Forman, Pepper Adams.

Where: Unity Concert Hall in San Luis Obispo

(1130 Orcutt Rd./ entrance on Fernwood Dr.)

Tickets will be $20, $15 (Jazz Fed members) and $10 (students). Tickets can be purchased at BrownPaperTickets.com, at BooBoo’s Records and at the door. Doors open at 7:00pm.
