Young Jazz Showcase & Scholarship Awards

The San Luis Obispo County Jazz Federation is privileged to showcase the 2026 winners of our “Young Jazz” music scholarships on Sunday April 19 at 4pm at Cuesta College (Room 7160 at Music & Fine Arts Bldg) in San Luis Obispo. The student musicians will play individual and group selections, accompanied by Gary Drysdale on guitar, Dylan Johnson on bass and Jim Stromberg on drums. This program, started in 1984, awards scholarships to talented and deserving students from local high schools and colleges in an effort to further musical development and to keep the jazz tradition alive. The scholarships are funded by the Jazz Federation through donations. This year’s winners include Nikita Browne, Diego Cardenas, Zoe Carpenter, Greyson Farrar, Mile Johnston and Tomsen Taylor.
